Spotted: A pair of the cutest couple in The Bachelor Nation. I turned on the streets of Back Bay near Back Bay Station and low-and-behold it was Carly and Evan Bass! They were in town for Whitney Bischoff’s wedding in Cape Cod. And a couple of the nicest people I’ve ever blindsided and attacked on the sidewalks of Boston. Thanks for agreeing to take this selfie, confirming it wasn’t weird (definitely weird), and filling my bachelor soul. Congrats you two, on all of your things. And I hope this selfie attack incident does not taint your Boston experience. Try the chowdah. For reals.
US Weekly tells us Ashley Salter is engaged to her college sweetheart Austin Brannen. That’s right! Not to be outdone by Ali Fedotwosky’s baby announcement and engagement, Ashley Salter, 25, was close on her heels. Wipe it out in one fell swoop — that’s the way these Bachelor old timers are doing it these days. It is all or nothing! This also comes closely behind Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici’s baby announcement. Babies all around! I hope they all take simultaneous lamaze classes and have little tiny Bachelor playdates. Jimmy Kimmel’s Baby Bachelor spinoff doesn’t seem so far off now does it?
Ashley S. announced the engagement over Instagram with the most clever caption: 12 is better than 1 rose. Oh snap, son. How you like dem onions, Bachelor Nation?
Bustle wants you to send a congratulatory basket of onions, but I would argue for a nice assortment of onions and pomegranates, spread the love.
I really hope the reception is at the Mesa Verde. With paint ball guns. And zombies. And Chris Soules.
In all seriousness, congrats to the happy couple!

Also, fun fact. Anyone remember Erica Rose? Let me jog your memory. She was on Season 9 of The Bachelor with Prince Lorenzo and then again on Bachelor Pad twice, tiara-clad. Erica Rose, 32, is expecting as well! Babies all around. Erica Rose is not engaged, but considers herself engaged to Galen Gentry. They met at Gentry Law Group where he is an attorney and she is in charge of business development.
There’s more Bachelor Baby news on the horizon. Just 28 days ago we learned of Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici’s new bun in the oven via the Insta. Coming up close behind is Ali Fedotowsky. (I’m secretly hoping one of these little kiddos will go Suri on all of their mini star counterparts and start The Baby Bachelor Burn Book. I would read that.) Ali very recently became engaged to Kevin Manno in September. Kevin Manno is a TV and radio host whom she met through a producer of one of her new shows 1st Look. After the engagement, Ali and Kevin were talking about a shotgun, nope nopers, a destination wedding. That’s what these kids are calling it these days. But now that they’ve spilled the baby beans, Ali’s slowing it down a bit and thinking about having a bigger wedding.
PEOPLE.com had an exclusive interview with the happy couple, where mostly Ali just gushed about babies and the miracle of life. I can’t wait to see what she has to say after she pushes a cantaloupe…
Ali announced her pregnancy on her blog www.AliLuvs.com with a harken back to the mom jeans SNL skit and picture of her in mom jeans. The caption below it read: “Mom Jeans: She’s not a woman anymore. She’s a mom.” Hilarious. Newsflash, Ali can even make mom jeans look appealing.

Since their engagement, they’ve been painting their new apartment and I guess making babies! How’s that for the Bachelor franchise success rate? I suppose she doesn’t quite count, because she’s no longer with hunky Roberto, but eh count it! Ok! I think this means we can add them to the which baby is destined to be the cutest poll from Bachelor Babies past.
and hope for the actual fruition of Jimmy Kimmel’s Baby Bachelor. Until next time, Bachelor Fans!
The pair announced their pregnancy via Instagram, each posting an adorable photo of them splayed out on the couch, Sean’s hand resting on her belly. In case you don’t follow either of them on the Insta, you really should. They might be the most adorable Bachelor/ette couple that seems genuinely happy in love and not completely in it for the fame. Sean posted his caption with an emoji version of those bumper stickers you find on many a minivan showing the new family, adding a baby to their two pups, Lola and Ellie. Congrats to the happy couple!
It’s a Valentine’s Day special! There’s always talk aflutter about how unlikely it is for people to find love on The Bachelor. While the odds are slim to none, love does happen more often than you might think. Here is a short list of Bachelor/ettes that have found love, marriage, and babies on and off the show.
JP and Ashley
My favorite couple, JP Rosenbaum and Ashley Hebert, are continuing to rock life with a new son. They welcomed a new addition to their family, Fordham Rhys Rosenbaum, on September 30, 2014 and since that day her Instagram account has been sprinkled, I’m sorry, covered, with the new baby. JP tweeted an adorable accusation that Ashley was hogging time with the little tyke. Ashley finished dental school and the couple, along with their adorable dog, Boo, moved from New Jersey to Miami.
Jillian Harris, Season 5 of The Bachelorette, interior designer, blogger, and current host of Love it or List it, Vancouver, is happily dating former professional snowboarder, Justin Pasutto. Her Instagram is covered with photos of them enjoying time by the lake. Justin is very supportive of Jillian’s endeavors. They are still enjoying time dating, but I have a sneaking suspicion they may be the next couple to put a ring on it. POPSUGAR did an exclusive interview with Jillian on her relationship with the self-proclaimed scrubcaptain and this is what they had to say.
It was elegant and gorgeous, and when the rose petals spouted from miniature cannons behind the couple as they made their way down the aisle as man and wife, yes I got a little teary. But first, let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we. Grown Sexy. WTF is grown sexy? Good thing they have the captions to clarify, because I thought it was GROAN sexy, which could have been way more uncomfortable slash amazing. I mean what am I supposed to think when they’re describing it while overlaying it with footage of the couple lingerie shopping. Maybe clarify with grown UP sexy? Maybe don’t call it grown/groan/moan. We get it you haven’t had sex in a year. Don’t need to emphasize it.
Grown Sexy, for those not in the know, is a grown up wedding with hints of sex – or just Catherine’s way of describing what she imagines her wedding to be like. (Good gawd please do not become a thing. Internet, please do not let Grown Sexy become a thing. I beg of you.)
Catherine has a lot of interesting ways of describing things. I’ve always said her and Sean were a quirky bunch.
Exhibit A: Taking boudoir pics for Sean: “I’m like a butterfly I just want to open up for him.”
Exhibit B: Wedding vows: “I’m like a bug looking for a light. You were like a light to my bug. I had to find you.” …and something about “love sprinkles.”
Exhibit C: Sit down with Chris Harrison: “I call myself his barnacle because I’m always attached to him.”
So she likes her insects and sea-faring animals.
In all seriousness, the wedding was sweet and adorable and you could see the love that they clearly had/have for each other (as further evidenced by these almost identical Instagram pics from each of their accounts). See booming rose petals. Awesome.

The wedding was filmed live, so leading up to the vows, ABC had a dual screen, showing wedding guests arriving and Catherine getting ready in a small screen to the right, while they showed all of the wedding preparations and Sean and Catherine’s love story. That’s where we met the wedding planner and learned of Catherine’s Grown Sexy plans for her wedding. Sorry Grown Sexy AND whimsical. Because those go hand-in-hand. Duh. (Although, I will concede that the wedding ceremony decor was completely gorgeous.)
Aside from Grown Sexy, another WTF moment brought to you by the “Honeymoon Suite Cam.” Yes, that’s right, ABC set up a camera of the honeymoon suite for the couple, showing the staff prepping the room with fresh sheets and chocolate, and just no. Nope, that’s not OK. Nobody needs to see that. Also, how do Sean and Catherine know that ABC took those cameras out of the room after it was all prepped and ready to go? I would not trust them.
Bonus uncomfortable footage: Sean lingerie shopping. The sales associate made him touch the lingerie to see how he liked it. His face turned scarlet. I also don’t need to know what Catherine is going to be wearing (or not wearing…ba du bum!) on her honeymoon night.
There was a huge emphasis (as expected) on the fact that Catherine and Sean are waiting until marriage. So Sean goes loungerie shopping, Catherine takes boudoir pics, and they set up a honeymoon suite cam…naturally.
Heart-Melting Moment: Aside from Sean tearing up as she walked down the aisle, I had an aw moment when Catherine was reading her vows and told Sean, “People tell me how much light there is inside of me because of you. You bring that out in me.” Cue audible aw.
Extra Fun: If you do watch this episode, every time they say “sexy” or mention sex, take a shot. Except maybe don’t do that, because that could end poorly.
The cakes! Wedding cake was designed by Duff Goldman.
And the groom’s cake was of Sean’s two other lady loves: His Boxer Lola and Chocolate Lab Ellie. It was designed by Charm City Cakes in LA.
I hope this Bachelor couple lasts and makes it into Bachelor history, because they are a cute duo and seem so happy in love.
Sean Lowe (Bachelor from Season 17) and Catherine Giudici are tying the knotSunday, January 26th, 2014 at 8|7c LIVE. That makes four (count ’em four!) Bachelor weddings that have aired on TV! Out of 17 seasons of The Bachelor and 9 seasons of The Bachelorette. Trista and Ryan, Jason and Molly, Ashley and JP. Unlike the previous weddings, however, this one will be shown live! Here is what you need to know before the end of January.
Where is the happy couple right now? Right now they are not living together, but living in the same city: Sean’s city of Dallas.
Who is walking Catherine down the aisle? Catherine’s Dad will walk her down the aisle. Despite the tumultuous relationship between Catherine and her Dad that ABC highlighted last season, Catherine continues to express how much she cares for him.
Who is officiating? Not Chris Harrison. “I doubt Chris will be officiating only because, you know, my dad is an ordained minister, my grandfather is a minister, there is a lot of ministers in line that might supercede Chris Harrison,” Sean explains. Turns out, Sean’s dad will be officiating the ceremony, joining these two in holy matrimony.
First Dance: After his little stint on Dancing with the Stars, Sean recruited his former pro ballroom dance partner, Peta Murgatroyd, to piece together his first dance. They chose a waltz.
Wedding prep: Catherine Giudici has been tweeting #weddingworkout for awhile to get in bikini bod mode.
The wedding invite: Quirky like the couple. Possibly done/influenced by Catherine’s graphic design background? The wedding invitations were designed by Smitten on Paper, and included the punny phrase: “The LOWEdown on marrying, eating, boogie-ing all night long.
The wedding party:Lesley Murphy, the saucy, blonde DC lobbyist (although random fun fact: now she’s living in Buenos Aires with her boyfriend Wade) and one of the other contestants on Sean’s season of The Bachelor will be in the wedding party. While you may think this is awkward seeing as she technically dated Sean the same time Catherine was, she became friends with Catherine on the show and has since remained close with her.
The ring: A whopping 3.15-carat platinum-and-diamond ring by Neil Lane, of course, will sit on Catherine’s finger. Not too shabby. (Pic taken in Thailand where Sean proposed and they rode off on an elephant.)
The dress: Of course, they’re not revealing the exact dress before the big day, but Daily Mail reported Catherine was dress shopping in LA and tweeted a pic of a J. Mendel dress she loved.
Where will the honeymoon be? They’re not spilling the goods, but in an interview with E! they said it would be someplace tropical.
Watch all the things! The Bachelor is back this January with Latin hunk, Juan Pablo. Ay, ay chico. Be still my salsa-dancing heart. That’s right Sean and Catherine, last season’s couple, are tying the knot in Bachelor bliss! Who woulda thunk. You would if you follow their Instagram accounts, because 99.9% of the time it’s a (often weird and quirky) pic or video of them together. Exhibit A.
When: SUNDAY, JANUARY 26, 2014 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) (Which is also my birthday!! Which you probably don’t care about, but omg I’m so excited!) AND it is going to be LIVE. No pre-taping here. Watch them say their vows and make Bachelor nation proud. I’ll post more on their wedding details soon.
Whelp, good thing I have a racing schedule starting in January because my butt is going to be glued to the couch for the foreseeable future. It’s going to be like Christmas all over again. A little overkill, but no complaints here. Give me all the things. Are you going to be watching, Bachelor Fans? Every. Single. Sunday? AND Monday?
I have nothing but respect and love for Jef and his family, but ultimately we are just at different points in our lives.
What happened? I thought they were destined to be one of the couples that actually made it! They went on a trip to Gana together, they vehemently denied cheating allegations, they took Ricki to school together…Do we ever get a straight answer from the root cause of these break-ups? No, just the song and dance of ‘we’re at different points in our lives,’ ‘we’re just different people.’ Well, Perez Hilton’s not afraid of digging a little deeper. He hints at underlying issues leading up to the break-up attributing trust as a major issue (I suppose sexy texts with another man will do that to a person) and that Emily just didn’t find Jef interesting (supposedly calling him a bore-mon Mormon).
Jef’s statement to People:
Emily and I are great friends and I hope we can continue to be friends forever. Everyone wants a salacious story to break, but the truth is we are just two people who fell in love and tried our hardest to make it work. I will always love her.
The real cause of the break-up: I’m gonna go with the other bloggers on this one and choose to attribute their break-up to Emily’s obsession with cats. Emily tweeted her daughter was going as a cat for Halloween and Jef tweeted shortly thereafter one of those awesome Somecards that read: “Your obsession with cats is out of control and I can’t handle it anymore… So you’re kicking meeeowt?” While Emily is deleting any online remnant of her relationship with Jef, Jef is fully embracing social media during their post break-up news.
Things have been shaking up in the relationship world of The Bachelor. I thought I was going to be in withdrawal until January, but silly me I should have known the Bachelor world was fraught with gossip, break-ups, and hook-ups – more than enough to allow me to get my fill until the season premiere.
So here’s what’s been happening in the Bachelor relationship realm.
Jillian Harris has a new man in her life. She dished to City Life Magazine. Good for her. She was one of my favorites – spunky, funny, nice design style – you should really take a looksy at her blog. It’s brimming with positivity, great content, and pictures worth Pinterest pinning.
It’s been rumored by US Weekly that Emily paid Jef-with-one-F to stay with her after it came out that she had cheated on him through her sexy texts with another man. They’ve been putting up an extremely solid front to avoid the media attention on their strained relationship no doubt, but she posted this little gem from her Twitter account showing off her “manicure.” Mmmhmm…yeah, the manicure, because that’s what we picked up on too, those freshly painted nails…
Next Bachelor! ABC has officially deemed Sean Lowe as the next Bachelor. Stats: 6’3″, 28-year-old, Texan, ex-college-football player (for Kansas State), who owns his own custom furniture firm. You can bet I’ll be keeping a close eye on that Twitter stream in the coming months…and no, not just in hopes of some hotty hot pics of the new bachelor…not just for those.
