Pickleball, A Motorcycle, and Matt’s Mom! Kiss Count: 2. Gerry is on the Board!

Mentions of pickleball: 1 But I feel there will be more to come. The first-ever Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner (71), started off with a bang of gold confetti! Gerry kissed Faith and Theresa and maybe a couple more but those were the cutest kisses.

Gerry was married for 43 years and bought him and his wife’s dream home and shortly after his wife passed away. He has three daughters.

Matt James’ (Season 25 Bachelor) mom, Patty, is part of the crew! No wonder she looked so familiar. Get it, Patty! Aaaand she went home night one. But it’s ok! More things are out there for her!

Who got kicked off: Anna, Maria, Pamela, Patty, Renee, and Sylvia were sent home night one.

First Impressions

Edith was first out of the limo in a gold gown kicking it off strong. She had Gerry and herself pop off gold confetti poppers. Snaps for Edith.

Ellen shouted, “Roberta, we made it!” after she exited the limo. Roberta is her friend back home battling cancer.

Sandra was third out of the limo and took a deep breath and swore. I like her.

Leslie dated Prince in her earlier years. She’s a dancer and a fitness instructor. She was also married twice for 7 years each.

Peggy is just a liar. Upon meeting Gerry, she said, “When I saw you on Good Morning America, I could not breathe for two hours.” JK. Get it, Peggy.

Theresa had a birthday and said she was going to come in her birthday suit. She undid her robe and revealed a nude-colored dress. Her husband passed away 9 years ago.

April brought a basket of eggs and said, “My eggs are still very fresh.” She also hates aging. She grew up on a chicken farm.

Renee did a cheer in a track suit and her cheer ended with f-. Not really, it was “marry.”

Susan looks like Kris Jenner. And told Gerry, “Gerry, see these heels? I’m very comfortable with 6 inches.” Funny.

Peggy was Matt James’ (Season 25’s Bachelor of The Bachelor!) mom! That’s why she looks so familiar. Matt was The Bachelor on season 25 and is happily dating his pick in New York.

Jimmy Kimmel’s aunt came to meet Gerry. And took a nap.

Faith rode in on a motorcycle. “I’m proof that you can live fast and not die young.” She is divorced.

Gerry’s quote of the night: “My life got a lot brighter in the last couple of hours.”

Weird gifts: April gave Gerry a calendar of her where every month read April.

Faith got the First Impression Rose. Faith played the guitar and a song for Gerry. Faith also looks so familiar. ABC says she’s a radio host. A Women’s Health article also said she was a singer and a radio host for (beware at the bottom of the article is a spoiler and I stopped reading.) 3 stations in Washington and Oklahoma: Eagle 106 and 94.9 The Wolf (in the Tri-Cities), and 100.9 KTSO (out of Tulsa). Does she look like an actress? Why can’t I place her?

Sweet Moment: Theresa put on a gown and read a note to Gerry that was from her daughter and Gerry brought her a cupcake with a 70 on it for her birthday. Gerry and Theresa shared a kiss after Gerry got frosting on his face. So sweet!

Honestly, this show gave me hope for a future.

Fun fact: Nursing home residents in Boston had a watch party and champagne flutes.

Sweetest Quote of the Night goes to Gerry again. He said, “I feel hopeful.”Me too, Gerry. Me too.

Bloopers: At the end of the episode, host Jesse woke Jimmy Kimmel’s aunt up from a nap and told her she missed the rose ceremony. To which she responded, “Did I get a rose?” Jesse said, “No,” and she followed up with, “Did I at least get a petal?” So cute.
