Seattle, Washington. Bachelor Alumns Everywhere! The Theme is Emerald City. And The New Bachelor is Announced. Also Golden Bachelorette Men Are Here.
Back to the US we go! Jenn and her men are in Seattle, Washington. And next week we’re headed into Hometowns! Heading to hometown dates are Devin, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Marcus. We also had a lot of Bachelor/ette alumns on this episode – Charity, Daisy, Kelsey, Molly and Jason, and Trista. First up on the Bachelor/ette alumni train was Charity. Charity had coffee with Jenn to give her some much-needed Bachelorette advice. Marcus and Jeremy each got one-on-one dates. Fun Fact: Seattle, Washington is the Emerald City, convenient for a promo for the upcoming Wicked movie and that is just what ABC did. And did they ever lean into the theme. See Marcus’ date below.
Who got kicked off: Grant, Sam M., and Spencer went home this week.

Announcements Galore!
Grant is the new Bachelor! ABC announced it Tuesday, the day after he got kicked off. Odd.
ABC also posted the new men for Joan Vassos‘ Golden Bachelorette season airing in the Fall. Busy day in Bachelor land. Not sure what ABC is doing? Distracting from the fact that we don’t have the saucy Bachelor in Paradise this summer? Just excited to boost ratings for the new seasons?
Mark your calendar, Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesday, September 18, 2024 on ABC at 8|7c.
Fun Fact for you. One of Joan’s men is Kelsey Anderson’s dad. Kelsey – the one who lost her mom to cancer and we met her dad on Joey’s Bachelor hometowns. He was very dashing. Welp. He’s on the Golden Bachelorette. (Another Fun Fact for you. If you’ll remember Matt’s mom was on The Golden Bachelor. She went home night one, but still yay for her.)

This Episode of The Bachelorette
Bachelor alums Daisy Kent and Kelsey Anderson, who made Bachelor history on Joey’s season by showing up to the final rose ceremony together holding hands in the car, came back to host a date and welcome Bachelorette Jenn to Seattle. There was also a promo in there throughout the date for the movie Wicked coming out November 22 in theatres.
One-on-One Date: Marcus got his second one-on-one date in Seattle with Jenn. Date card read: Marcus, let’s find love in Emerald City. And it came with a green letterman jacket. ABC leaned hard into the Emerald City theme for their Wicked promo – from Jenn’s emerald ring to Marcus’ green letterman jacket to a decked-out-green-velvet-wearing-Jesse in a green trolley with green champagne flutes. Except Jenn. Jenn wore pink.

Daisy Kent and Kelsey Anderson greeted Jenn for a scavenger hunt following a yellow brick road complete with a pillow fight, hot pepper-eating and an argument about fast or slow. After the scavenger hunt, Charity greeted the duo with a magic wand and bubbles and a hometown pun and told Jenn to be careful with the wand. Upon receiving the wand, Jenn immediately pops a bubble. The balloons had pieces of their past and people important to them sending messages.
The next leg of the journey, Trista Sutter, the first Bachelorette and is still married to the guy she chose on her season, greeted the pair to send them on a green hot air balloon ride. Defying Gravity played in the background.

Another Fun Fact: My friend’s coworker in Seattle can be seen as a blurry figure in the background of the hot air balloon scene, sipping and judging from her patio. Amazing. Also, fun fact. They didn’t take off from the hot air balloon from that site, just went up a couple feet and came back down.

The dinner was on the field of T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners, with a green tablecloth and Jenn and Marcus’ names on the scoreboard. Not gonna lie, I was a little jealous of this.
Group Date: Jenn had a radio talk show with her group date men hosted by Jubal and Bender, who are hosts of “Love On-Air Seattle” along with Bachelor alums Jason and Molly Mesnick (Season 13. Remember Jason chose someone else first and then broke up with her on live TV to choose Molly. But now they’re happily in love with kiddos). Turns out, Molly was on the Seattle radio group date on their season and Jason said she was the best kisser.

Sam M. was chosen out of the group date men to have more time on air. He said a lot of words that had no meaning. Jenn was confused. The men were confused. America was confused. He also told Jenn he loved her. It was odd.
Second One-on-One Date: Jeremy got a one-on-one date in Seattle and he and Jenn explored Pike Place Market, gum wall and all. Jeremy made Jenn a bouquet of very pretty flowers. Then he and Jenn had their palms read and got a fortune from the ball machine. They tossed fish at the market and had a great time. They had dinner at the Chihuly Garden and Glass Center and Jeremy opened up about his religion and excitement to take Jenn home. Jeremy got a rose.
Sam M. went home before the rose ceremony because Jenn went to his room to clarify if Sam M. liked her. Sam M. could not express anything that made sense. He used platitudes. Honestly, I have no clue what he was saying. Jenn sent him home.
At the rose ceremony, Grant and Spencer were sent home. And Grant was announced as the next Bachelor.
This week is HOMETOWNS! The best.
