Fantasy Suite Dates in Tahiti! Nancy is Here! And We’re on a Boat!

Joan is off to Moorea the islands of Tahiti with her three remaining men – Chock, Guy and Pascal. They have dream dates in the turquoise waters of Tahiti – swimming with blacktip sharks, traveling by boat (Star Breeze by Windstar Cruises) and doing a Tahitian ceremony. Nancy from The Golden Bachelor – now one of Joan’s good friends who lives by Joan too – came onto the cruise ship to give Joan a much-needed listening ear and friend-fueled encouragement.

Quote of the Night hands down goes to Nancy while she was comforting Joan on Joan’s decision to let love in again: “Lonely is not a place that you stay. Lonely is a place that you walk through.” OMG, cue the tears. This is why Nancy is the best. Such a good friend.

Who got kicked off: Pascal self-selected to go home. He wasn’t ready to commit.

Guy got a boat date. Guy and Joan sailed around Moorea with a bottle of champagne admiring the turquoise water and talking about their hometown date from last week. Guy told Joan his sisters loved her. They went snorkeling with blacktip sharks and stingrays and shared an underwater kiss.

At dinner, Joan told Guy she was excited to have off-camera time but wouldn’t have a physical connection. She wanted to save that for her person, whoever that is, at the end of the journey because they will be the most important priority.

Joan said in her interview, “The person that I end up with at the end of this journey has to be my highest priority because I will spend the rest of my life with that person so if I hold back with everybody until I find that person it’s the right thing to do.”

Chock got a date where they drove in an ATV around the island – fast. Then they had champagne and a picnic in an open field. Chock was really gung-ho and kept telling Joan how much he cares for her and wants to be with her. Last week he told her at hometowns he was falling in love with her. At dinner after Joan handed him the overnight card, Chock asked her to help him read the note because he didn’t bring his glasses. It was so cute.

Pascal got the Tahitian Welcoming Ceremony (La Ora Na) date. They had a feast and he spoke French with the locals. Pascal kept saying he was here to have a good time with her no pressure. And then they had a traditional Tahitian Bonding Ceremony that freaked him out. It involved taking water from the ocean and releasing some fears by emptying the coconut cup filled with ocean water. Pascal wanted to release his walls. Joan wanted to release the fear that she wasn’t honoring John’s memory. Then they had their hands wrapped together with the Auti that is meant to bond them to the land and the sky.

Before the date, Pascal had a talk with host Jesse at Manava Beach Resort where he shared he was almost engaged and in love with a woman a year ago. He was with that lady for two years on and off. He shared that on the outside he was looking happy and fun but deep down he was hurting. He mentioned his rough childhood background. When Jesse asked what Pascal’s kids had told Pascal at hometowns, Pascal said his son told Pascal that he wants Pascal to be happy and he doesn’t want his dad to be alone because eventually he and his sister will move out and have families too. It was sweet.

At dinner, Pascal revealed his daughter had signed him up for the show after his heartbreak. Pascal asked why he was still here and Joan told Pascal that Pascal does everything big like her late husband John and she loved that about him.

Pascal told Joan that he didn’t think he could get to the place that Joan wanted him to be. Joan asked if he wasn’t ready now or if he never will be because those were two different things. Pascal told her he wasn’t in love and that he cared about Joan as a friend. He wasn’t feeling a spark. Sadness. Pascal left down a very long spiral staircase and off on a smaller boat.

This week is Men Tell All! All our cute dads and granddads are back for a reunion and it looks wholesome on Wednesday, 8|7c on ABC. Cheers!
