No Drama Llama Linda, A Bedazzled Basketball and A PowerPoint. Grant Meets the Ladies.
Grant’s Season of The Bachelor has begun! Grant, 30, is a day trader from Newark, NJ. His mom lives in Houston, TX. He was a professional basketball player overseas. He’s 6’4″ and played basketball at Iona University, Southern University and Albertus Magnus College according to PEOPLE.com. Fun fact, his mom signed him up for the show. Grant has 25 ladies ready to vie for his heart.
Who got kicked off: Christina, J’Nae, Kelsey, Kyleigh, Neicey, Radhika, and Savannah were sent home night one. I did not hear Beverly’s name called at the rose ceremony, so she is a question mark for me. I thought she went home too. If someone can please clarify? All the sources online don’t say she went home. But I did not hear her name called.

First Impressions:
Rose was the first one out of the limos and asked Grant if he would accept this rose.
Alexe brought Linda the “No Drama Llama” to the party, and it was the best. Linda is 5-years-old. Alexe is French Canadian and grew up on a farm.

Litia brought a bedazzled basketball and told him, “If he brings the skill, she’ll bring the sparkle.” She got a montage.
Sarafiena brought a giant head. Grant was so sweet. He told her he would hold his head while he got to know her. She told him she would always be his biggest cheerleader and tell him how pretty and funny and talented he is but wouldn’t let him get a big head. Great.
Zoe brought a t-shirt cannon, which was awesome. Zoe had Grant’s face and her face on the shirt and told him it was their merch. Even more awesome was that Chloie wore the shirt when Zoe walked in.
Chloie is the best. She walked back in wearing the merch to greet Zoe.

The Italians brought food:
Juliana from Newton, MA brought a cannoli. She also got a montage.
Alli Jo from New Jersey came in a white Jeep holding a heart-shaped pizza and asked if Grant would “accept a pizza my heart.”
Cool Rides:
Vicky came in holding a lettered sign that read, “Viva Las Vicky” in the back seat of a cool old car.
Dina told Grant her ring size was a size 6. Dina got a montage. She is 1 of 11 (I think she was #5) children, has Romanian parents, and is a civil litigation defense attorney in Chicago.
Radhika came in dancing.
Allyshia brought a genie in the bottle lamp for them to make a wish on. She said, “Maybe, if we’re lucky, our wish might be Grant.” Excellent.
Natalie brought a worry stone.
Beverley wore a Miss Dominican Republic sash and then flipped it to read Mrs. Ellis.
Carolina spoke almost entirely in Spanish.

Cocktail Party
First Kiss: Allyshia got the first kiss from Grant that was shown.
First Impression Rose: This season the First Impression Rose meant the lady also got the First Date. Alexe got the first impression rose and will get the first date of the season.
Weird Things
Rose brought clay and blindfolds. I’m still unclear why the blindfolds were needed. They shared a kiss. They each made rings. Grant was hilarious. He said of Rose’s giant clay sculpture, “This is an ankle monitor. This is not a ring.”
Bailey brought a phone for a LOT of selfies. It got very annoying. Also, the producers take your phones for the show, so it must have been a little prop. She stayed. Also, fun fact though – Bailey is an intern at Show Me Your Mu Mu, which is a brand Hannah Brown promotes. And I found that fun fact out from Hannah G. who answered a bunch of questions throughout the show on Instagram, which was fun. She also said Allyshia had the same white dress she wore for Hannah’s wedding to Dylan.
Other fun facts I learned from Hannah G. and Dylan were that the contestants get to request food they want in the fridge and they have to cook for themselves. Also, they are assigned beds and rooms, so they don’t get to pick their roommates. For their night one dress, they kinda have to work with the producer to get approval on the one they want to wear. They run through their night one intro, and there is a whole prop place that they can use to get a prop.

Grant asked Allyshia, “Tell me something that is very important to you that is integral to you so I can remember it.” Like whaat, so thoughtful! Allyshia shared that she grew up without a Dad and her mom is an immigrant.

Kiss Counter:
Juliana played the piano. And got a kiss. Alexe the speech therapist had Grant learning French. And got a kiss. Vicky got a kiss. Zoe got a kiss. Litia got a kiss. Allyshia and Rose each had a kiss. Bachelor Data has the kiss count here.
Parisa brought a powerpoint. I know this is a thing on the internet that you do with your girls at home, but this was brutal to watch. She stayed, though. She did not get a kiss.

Quote of a Night: Grant in response to Parisa’s PowerPoint: “You really did that.”
Natalie had Grant do a breathing exercise. She works with kids and anxiety. Grant called her a keeper.
Grant’s Sister Joined the Mix

She was very sweet. I was kinda hoping she would have grilled the ladies a bit more. She asked the ladies what they wanted to know about Grant and gave them the inside scoop.
Next week, we’re on to the dates!
